Over the past 16 years I have enjoyed a long and varied career in design. Originally working in print and production following an education in typographic design and having worked at numerous agencies both large and small, I developed a meticulous eye for detail and a problem solver's attitude. As the industry evolved and shifted towards digital design I adapted my skills to suit, with a focus on motion graphics and 3D visualising. Although the direction has changed I believe that all of the same important principles still apply today.
Always keeping up-to-date with the latest software packages, I have developed a varied skill set utilising Adobe Creative Cloud. I have used After Effects & Cinema 4D extensively, along with a wide range of plug-ins for both. I also have many years of experience using Photoshop to carry out extensive retouching, and a wealth of knowledge using Illustrator, InDesign and Audition.
With technology being an interest and large part of my life I always try to incorporate this with the work I produce. Working closely with Adobe, I've helped promote platforms, such as the Digital Publishing Suite to produce digital magazines for tablets as well as currently producing VR environments for use with Google Cardboard.
Senior Designer
(Motion Graphics & 3D)

MRM Meteorite (part of MRM//McCann)
September 2014 – Present
Having proven my design skills for a number of years and taking a series of training courses to advance my After Effects and Cinema 4D skills, I was promoted to senior designer to focus on the agency’s growing need for motion graphics.
I have worked on a large range of projects from YouTube, Facebook and Twitter videos to large format event displays through to outdoor digital advertising and retail graphics. These have been for a range of clients including Xbox, MasterCard, Cisco, TSB, Vauxhall and P&O Ferries.
Being technically minded I am always looking how to enhance the software that I use by incorporating plug-ins and developing faster workflows. More recently I’ve been using X-Particles for Cinema 4D and I am currently incorporating this with the third party renderer Cycles 4D while developing node based textures. As well as these I have experience using Red Giants Trapcode & Magic Bullet Suites for After Effects.
Studio Manager
(hands-on)

MRM Meteorite (part of MRM//McCann)
December 2011 – September 2014
I became Studio Manager after Meteorite merged with MRM//McCann in late 2011. In addition to continuing the work that I was already doing for Meteorite’s clients, I took on further responsibilities and was able to work with a wider range of clients including Intel and Vauxhall. My duties also involved helping resolve any IT issues for the creative department, managing the agency’s font server and maintaining its large format printer.
In addition to my role as studio manager, I also applied my creative abilities to specialist design projects for all of our clients and any new business requirements. Design projects could range from print, emails and digital publishing, through to motion graphics.
Senior Creative Artworker /
Head of Studio

METEORITE
May 2008 – December 2011
In May 2008, I started working as a senior creative artworker for Meteorite, a large agency based in central London. Due to hard work and my creative, artwork and retouching abilities, I was often asked to work on the agency’s top projects. Clients included Costa Coffee, Expedia, Royal Mail, Post Office, Jumeriah Hotels, BlackBerry, Homebase, Standard Life and World Vision.
At the start of 2009, I took charge of the studio, while continuing to produce design and artwork to an extremely high standard. My suggestions for how we could improve the way projects were moved through the agency saw me promoted to the role of Studio Manager in 2010.
The new position involved managing the studio team, carrying out staff reviews, setting targets, training junior employees, liaising with client services and trafficking projects through the department to ensure tight deadlines were met without compromising on the quality of the work produced.
Creative Artworker
J2*
November 2006 – April 2008
In my time at J2*, I had the privilege of working on some large and important projects for well-known brands, including Oxfam and Donington Park Race Course. During my role as creative artworker, I began developing my retouching skills and started using a Wacom tablet for increased accuracy.
Being part of a larger company taught me how to work well in a team environment and improved my communications skills. I also gained valuable experience in handling requests from account handlers, often to very tight deadlines.

ORIGIN 1
May 2003 – October 2006
In 2003 I began working for Origin 1. As one of just three employees at the firm, I played an integral part in the running of the business and took on a wide range of responsibilities. This provided me with a great opportunity to build on my existing skills and develop new ones.
I handled all of Origin 1’s artwork and my role involved liaising with printers and signage companies to make sure all the work was created accurately. During my time with the company, I did a lot of work for the dentistry industry, promoting treatments like tooth whitening and veneers. For these projects, I produced original concepts and designs for logos, stationery and marketing material as well as internal and external shop signage. I also produced a number of luxury brochures for property developers in the London area. This involved creating highly technical vector floor and site plans in a variety of styles.
I was also responsible for managing the backup systems, filing paperwork and ordering stationery supplies. This gave me a good understanding of basic methods used in a successful company.
